Welcome to
Personal Preflight

Before you fly you always preflight your aircraft, don’t you, but how often do you preflight yourself?

All too often we hear ourselves, and others, say “I'll be 'right.”

Well sometimes you won’t be.

It is important to make sure you are fit to fly, both mentally and physically. When you get into your aircraft there’s a lot riding on your ability to perform well, when things are going well – and when they aren’t.

This course looks at six major areas of personal fitness to fly;

  • Fatigue,
  • Alcohol,
  • Drugs,
  • Stress,
  • Food and Water,
  • Wellbeing, and
  • Risk Management.

You can browse these topics at your leisure, and there are videos, case studies and pick-a-path activities included as well.

We hope you enjoy this course, and you take away something that improves your awareness of your fitness to fly.

In the meantime, start by watching Allan Beck tell the story of his helicopter crash.
